Dr. Eva King and her team, Dr. Andrew King, Christopher Smith, and Kelly Chivvis bring their scientific background, experience, enthusiasm, and genuine drive to help people to every investigation and project. Our passion is to help you create a healthier, more comfortable indoor environment. For you, your family, and your employees.
Dr. Eva King, MSc, CIEC
Principal Scientist and Founder
Dr. King has been involved in investigations and research into indoor environments and health, allergens, asthma and immunology for about 20 years. Her work has been published in many peer-reviewed scientific publications, and she regularly presents at conferences and workshops.
Her focus is helping clients with underlying medical conditions identify building-related problems that contribute to their health issues, often by direct physician referral.
Dr. King received her Master in Biochemistry in her native Germany, and her Doctorate in Immunology/Epidemiology from the University of Oxford, UK, and is a Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC, ACAC #180311).
She is a member of ASHRAE, the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), and the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ), and previously served on the Board of Directors and as Technical Conference Chair of the Indoor Air Quality Association.

The AURA EnviroScience Inspection Team ready for action!
Dr. Andrew King joined AURA full-time as an Environmental Specialist in June 2024 and earned the Council-certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE) accreditation (#2503009) in January 2025. Andrew has been supporting Eva grow AURA’s capacity over the years on a part-time basis alongside teaching college courses. He also manages much of AURA’s back office operations.
Christopher Smith has been an instrumental team member as an Inspection Specialist since 2022. He assists Eva with all aspects of the in-depth on-site inspection process. And he usually has a pocket full of dog & cat treats!
Kelly Chivvis has managed AURA’s client communications as Executive Assistant since 2023. Kelly is typically your first point of contact, and helps you better understand what the AURA inspection process looks like and helps you get on the schedule.
