We work mostly with clients who have underlying medical conditions that make them more susceptible to health effects from environmental exposures, such as CIRS, PANS, MCAS, Allergies, Asthma, or auto-immune conditions. Many of our clients are referred to us by their physician.

While many clients come to us with concerns about mold, there is a lot more to indoor environmental quality than “just” mold! Therefore, our approach to inspections is holistic. Other specific concerns we are called to assess include water damage, bacterial contamination, nuisance odors, VOCs, sick-building syndrome and building-related illness, HVAC system concerns, building pressurization, ventilation, and pests.

Whatever the initial concern may be, understanding the building and how occupants use it is a vital first step to diagnosing problems and suggesting solutions.

In the case of mold in buildings, we need to understand that mold is a “symptom” of building-related problems, not the “disease”.

Our focus is to first determine what created the conditions that allowed the mold to develop in the first place. Without that knowledge, you cannot address the underlying problems, and create a solid plan to remediate, while also taking steps to prevent the mold from coming back.
